SOUND EFFECTS FOR “GHOST TRAIN”

TEN ASSISTANTS NEEDED BACK STAGE

The train noises have always provided the excitement and tension in Arnold Ridley’s play *’The Ghost Train.” The Canterbury Repertory Theatre Society’s production of the play, which will open on Friday, will have 10 of the company back stage doing the sound effects alone. Much of the atmosphere of the play depends on the realism of these effects Under the charge of Mr Stewart Robertson, the team will produce train noises from a most unlikely-looking assortment of instruments.

Because there are only 10 in the cast, most of the company will be involved in back-stage work.
