DAMAGE AT FAIR BUILDING

Vandals damaged the New Zealand Industries Fair building in Ferry road during the week-end. Windows were broken, doors wrenched off their hinges,' and jpaint pots upset It is thought that children may have been responsible. The secretary of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, Mr R. T. Alston, said that as far as could be ascertained very little had been stolen, but a careful check was being made and safeguards were being taken to prevent any further illegal entry to the buildings or grounds. The matter had been placed in the I hands of the police.
