TWO MEN IN LEAD FOR SOUTHLAND TITLE (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, June 5. B. Smith (Hutt Valley) shot consistently tonight to bring himself to first equal in the Southland centennial smallbore rifle championship. He and R. Westen (Christchurch) have scored
300.29 points. Weston shot his total yesterday. Today was the. second round of the championship. More than 500 marksmen, from all over New Zealand and one from Australia, are taking part. The contest will continue until Saturday. If no-one betters the score of Smith and Weston, the championship will be decided by a careful and accurate study of the targets. The only score that could better these two totals is a possible of 300.3&
