AUCKLAND SALE OF HORSES

LACHLAN BRINGS 750 GUINEAS
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 5. The five-year-old gelding Lachlan brought the top price of 750. guineas at a thoroughbred sale in Auckland today. Lachlan was offered in a dispersal of Mr L. W. Mora’s stock, and was bought by Mrs C. McGregor. He will join Gold Quality and Royal Shoes, which are members of W. Clifton’s team, when they go to Sydney on June 14.
Poetical, the New Zealand Cup winner last year, and another of Mr Mora’s draft, failed to reach the reserve of 400 guineas. He was passed in at 180 guineas. Flying Slipper changed hands at 300 guineas. Flying Slipper was previously raced by Mr Mora, and he will contest the Visitors’ Handicap at Ellerslie on Saturday in Mr F. Ofsoske’s colours.
