INDEPENDENT SOCIAL CREDIT LEAGUE
POLICY STATEMENT ISSUED The Social Credit Independent League, which has been formed by Mr Ernest Yealands, who withdrew from the New Zealand Social Credit Political League after being a foundation member, has issued a policy statement under the title, “Back to the Bible crusade.” Among the policy points are statements that the new organisation will fight for “the right to create and issue our credit and currency”; practical methods of decentralising political and economic power from the political parties to the people: decentralisation of monetary power from private mon-' opolies to public ownership; and “substitution of the present politicians’ control over the people by the people's control over politics.”
An indication that the new league intends to contest the General Election is contained in the statement that each electorate should form local and national policies to be sponsored by their independent candidate, and that all candidates should be free at all times from the pressures of all political parties Each candidate will be pledged to work for the. people's right of recall, so that electors may have control over their representative.
