POWER LINK ACROSS COOK STRAIT
REPORT NOT SCHEDULED TILL END OF 1956
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 5.
The firm engaged by the Government to report on the Cook Strait power cable project is not scheduled to report till the end of this year. An official of the State Hydro-electric Department said this today. Two representatives of the firm, British Insulated Callender’s Cables, Ltd., of England, had gathered data, including a report by the Geophysics Division, which had worked with the Royal New Zealand Navy on a survey, said the spokesman. The department would report on the project when the conclusions of the British company had been received, he said.
