Cold, showery weather yesterday kept most Christchurch people indoors for the Queen’s Birthday holioay. When the weather brightened a little m the afternoon, a short motor-car th u e hl . lls , or round th e beaches made a break from the fireside for many families.
Those who ventured inland towards the mountains found much better weather, with a good deal of sunshine.
