CHRISTCHURCH SAVAGE CLUB
There was a large attendance of members at the sixty-third annual meeting of the Christchurch Savage Club. The retiring Great Chief (Mr T. C. Williams) was presented with the gold badge of office. The meeting stood in silence in memory of eight members who died during the year.
Officers elected were: president and Great Chief, Mr D. V. Wilson: vicepresident. Mr J. Moffitt; honorary secretary. Mr K. A. Hore; treasurer, Mr H. J. Gillespie; master of ceremonies. Mr A. H. Bissett; programme organiser. Mr R. Ogden; council, Messrs T. C. Williams. W. L. Mitchell, J. L. Luney, W. A. Luney, F. Brownie, A. Handley. O. Hancox, M. Bowman (orchestral nominee) and all past chiefs: honorary auditor," Mr W. S. Mac Gibbon; honorary solicitor. Mr R. A. Young; musical director, Mr Len Barnes; accompanist, Mr G. L. Russell.
