CHRISTCHURCH WEST HIGH SCHOOL
GRANTS OF £485 FROM DEPARTMENT Grants amounting to £485 have been approved by the Education Department to redecorate and refurnish two rooms at the Christchurch West High School, it was announced at a meeting of the board of governors. Of this £3OO will be spent on the art room in providing felt and linoleum for the floor and hard board for the wall, and £lB5 will go towards the cost of sanding the floor and laying felt in another room. Board members approved the plans of the new assembly hall for the school, which will be the subject of final discussions with the architect. The chairman (Mr H. R. Peers) reported that the appointments of two teachers, Misses L. E. Hunter and M. B. Cusack, had been approved. The board will send its congratulations to Christchurch Boys’ High School on its seventy-fifth anniversary.
