Motor Spirits Rebate.— An amendment. to the Motor Spirits (Regulation of Prices) Act. gazetted last week provides that purchasers of netrol for which a customs rebate has been paid (that is. rc*rnl imed for purposes other than road transport) will no longer b= able to claim the additional rebate of Id a gallon. It is also provided that the normal rebate of Id a gallon for petrol, previously only payable on sales involving receptacles containing at least 44 gallons, will now apply to all sales of not less than 44 gallons, irrespective of the container used.— (P.A.)
