ANTARCTIC APPEAL CONCERT
More than 890 persons attended an Antarctic appeal concert in Christchurch last evening. About £l5O was taken, and this amount, minus expenses, will be given to the Christchurch Antarctic Appeal Committee. The chairman of the committee (Mr W. A. Breach) thanked the artists taking part. He was very pleased with the concert. Mr Breach said. The well-known radio personality. Javk Maybury. as guest star, amused the audience with a succession of jokes and a humorous sketch involving a large, playful dog. A vocal trio, the Waine Brothers, winners of a recent talent quest, provided the most popular act of the evening.
