DENTAL NURSES’ TRAINING
SCHOOL FOR SOUTH ISLAND GIRLS
FIRST INTAKE NEXT WEEK
Fifty-four -student dental nurses will enter the newly-formed South Island Dental School in Manchester street on Apnl 4 This is the first intake of girls who will do their complete dental training in the South Island. Twenty South Island dental nurses who carried out their early training in Wellington are at present completing their course at the school. The former McLean Institute building in Manchester street has been extensively altered and remodelled, and yet much of the old interior woodwork. such as the stairs, has been retained. What were formerly a diningroom and lounge have been converted into two surgeries and a diningroom for the girls has been placed close to the kitchen.
Most of the students doing the course will live in. Their rooms have been redecorated and new furniture has been bought. Several new bathrooms have been added.
