CAR FOR CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND
APPEAL BY JUNIOR
CHAMBER The Canterbury Junior Chamber of Commerce has appealed for a gift of ■an old car as playground equipment | for the children at the Christchurch i Occupation Centre in Merivale Lane. In several overseas countries parj ticularly Sweden, old cars have proved to be a more popular article of equip'ment among children than the con- | ventional swings, slides, and round-; I abouts.
I A member of a special committee set lup by the Junior Chamber to search I for a car said that the car j would not need engine or other essen- ■ tials for running models, but would require only road wheels, seats, and steering wheel. The committee asks anyone who has such a car available to telephone No. 38-085.
