N.Z. POLO TEAM FOR MEXICO
EXPERIENCED PLAYERS SELECTED "The Press" Special Service HAMILTON. March 13. Four members of the New Zealand polo team which brought the Australasian Gold Cup back tn the Dominion from a tour of Australia in 1954. have been chosen for the New Zealand team which will compete in the World Gold Cup tournament at Mexico City next month. The team, announced by the man-, agement committee of the New Zealand Polo Association, will be as follows: R. B. Walker (Taupiri), player-manager; Wynne Sherrat (Poverty Bay), vice-captain; G. Spence 'Morrinsville), R. Douglas (Morrins- . ville). Woodbine Sherratt (Poverty Bay). Walker was in the New Zealand i team in 1954. Wynne Sherratt was full-back in Australia, and Spence was No. 1 in the team. He is regarded as probably the best No. 1 player in the Dominion. Douglas was captain of the 1954 team in Australia. The United States. Argentina and Mexico will also compete in the Gold Cup tournament. Invitations to visit the States and Argentina are almost certain to be issued to the New Zealand team before the players return home.
