NORTH CANTERBURY GUN CLUB Ideal conditions prevailed when the North Canterbury Gun Club held its opening shoot of the season. There was a good attendance and the shooting was of a high standard. A 10-bird eye-opener with 35 entries resulted in a tie between M. I. Boyce, J. T. Matson, M. D. Bailey. D. S. Dorreen, G. E. Croft, P. Coleman, and P. Kidd, with possibles. Those with one down were J. Manson, W. J. Fidler, W. Matson. V. Payne, E. Frecklington (Australia). I. Streeter, L. Bush, and P. Tuta. The main match of 15 targets was divided by E. Hammond. Frecklington, J. C. Streeter, and Kidd. Those with one down were Boyce, R. T. Whitham, J. Manson, Fidler. R. Samuel. C. D. Bailey. Payne, R. Crawford, Croft, Bush, and Coleman. A 10-bird sweep resulted in a tie between Manson, C. D. Bailey, Croft, and Bush, who divided the prize money. Those with one down were Boyce, L. W. Kerr, F. J. Rowse, J. T. Matson, Payne. E. Bearman. Frecklington. Streeter, Coleman, I. B. Stocker, and Tuta. The concluding match, a 10-bird gimcrack, resulted in a straight-out win for C H. Rowsell, with the only possible. Those with nine breaks were Boyce, Manson, W. Chalmers, Crawford. Precklington, Streeter, Stocks, and Tuta.
