RAILWAY BOWLS TOURNEY AT PERTH
S. BARLOW BEATEN (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) PERTH, March 6. The New Zealand singles representative, Stan Barlow, of Christchurch, was beaten in the final of the knock-out singles championship at the Australian and New Zealand railway bowlers’ canival today. The event, which carried the Howse Cup, vrs won by Eric Macenzie, of New South Wales, 31-16.
This was the New Zealand Railway Bowling Association’s first defeat in the carnival. In the test series of seven matches. New Zealand is still the only undefeated side after completion of the first four tests.
