(Engagement Notices must be signed by both parties.) Steffensen—Thompson: The engagement is announced of Muriel Elizabeth, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. J. Thompson, Wainoni, to Keith Adrian, only son of Mrs D. Steffensen, Linwood, and of the late Mr R. Steffensen.
Hair is going up for evenings, according to a report from London. Where the hair is not long enough the ends are tucked in down the centre back and a chignon added. Two very new things to look for on fashionable women are a dead straight fringe and a pair of jewelled earrings clipped on to a braided chignon. West End night clubs have had many patrons recently wearing jewelled clips on their hair or diamond necklaces worn like Alice bands.
