NEW TIME FOR 880 YARDS (New Zealand Press Association) MASTERTON, January 23. A successful attempt to lower the New Zealand 880 yards record was made G - st ePhens (Nae Nae) at the Masterton amateur athletics annual meeting on Saturday. Stephens’ time was Imin 54.45ec, which was isec better than the record established in 1949 at New Plymouth by N. T O. Wilson (Auckland). G. Albott (Nelson), who was second, also finished inside the previous record with a time of Imin 59.95ec.
