FULL N.Z. INQUIRY PROMISED (New Zealana Press Association) WELLINGTON. January 22. “The • special committee appointed by the Government last year will investigate al] aspects of the .various anti-poliomyelitis vaccines beibre any one is used in New Zealand,” said the Minister of Health (Mr J. R. Hanan) in a telephone interview from Invercargill yesterday. “Provided the committee is satisfied with the qualities of the vaccine' to be adopted, the Government will take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that it is employed to the best advantage in combating the disease,” said the Minister. Mr Hanan said that the British announcement that a vaccine giving protection against poliomyelitis had been developed was of very great interest. “It is most heartening to learn that the vaccine will probably be available to New Zealand this year,” he said.
