Metal Fatigue In Aircraft
(Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW YORK. January 7. Metal fatigue, blamed for the disasters of Britain’s original Comet jet airliner, will be the subject of a threeday international conference in New York, starting on January 30.
Columbia University announced today that experts from Britain, the United States, Australia, West Germany. and Sweden, would address 125 delegates on the problem of aeroplane metal fatigue.
The conference is under the joint sponsorship of Columbia University and the Office of Scientific Research of the U.S. Air Force.
