SOFTBALL
NATIONAL INTER CLUB TOURNAMENT (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 5. Section play in the national inter-club softball tournament ended at Athletic Park today. Jenkins’ Gym and Miramar will contest one semi-final tomorrow. The other semi-final will be between Cardinals (Hutt Valley) and Te Kuiti Dodgers. The final will be played at 3 p.m. tomorrow. The holder of the John Lennon trophy, Jenkins’ Gym, is favoured to retain the title it won at Hastings last season. It is the only unbeaten team of the tournament. Today’s games resulted as follows: Section A.—Jenkins’ Gym (Wellington) 24, V.I.C. (Wairarapa) 6; Dodgers (King Country) 17, V.I.C. 1; Jenkins 6, Dodgers 2.
