WOOL VALUES IN AUSTRALIA
(Rec. 11.20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 20. At the Melbourne wool sale today crossbreds did not maintain the values they reached at the opening of the series, but prices for Merinos ruled fully firm. There was keen competition from all sections of the trade, principally Britain, the Continent, and Japan. There was a satisfactory clearance of the 14,500 bales offered. Crossbred prices included 92d for extra super 60/64’s; for good to super 58’s, and 63 Jd for good 50’s.
