FUNDS FOR ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION
CONTRIBUTIONS BY LOCAL BODIES (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 19. Contributions by loca’ authorities and public organisations to the Ross Sea Committ -’s appeal for funds for the Antarctic expedition are being authorised by a clause in the end-of-season Finance Bill.
The Miniser of Internal Affairs (Mr S. ’7. Smith) said today that local authorities desiring to assist the appeal had said that they had not the power to do So. The Minister of Finance (Mr J. T.
