THEFT OF SHEEP DOGS

THREE MEN FINED (New Zealand Press Association) TAIHAPE, October 20. Three men who stole two sheep dogs were each fined £2O in the Taihape Magistrate’s Court today by Mr S. S. Preston, S.M., and ordered to make restitution. They were Ronald Leslie a * arm labourer, of Waitotara, William Robert Williams, a farm labourer, of Wangaehu, and Mervyn Erancis Cox, a farm labourer, of Master ton. The dogs, stolen from farmers at Hunterville on July 14, were valued at £3O and £25. One was sold to a Raetihi farmer for £lB, and the other was shot and buried when the police began making inquiries. .. Senior-Sergeant R. Griffiths said th3t all three were equally responsible for the thefts, though the dogs were disposed of by Bendall and Williams.
