DALLINGTON WOMEN’S CLUB More than 100 members and visitors were present at the opening of the Dallington Women’s Bowling Club. They were welcomed by the president, Mrs H. N. Merrett. Guest speakers included Mrs J. D. Cairney, president of the Christchurch women’s centre, and Mr J. D. Cairney, president of the Dallington Bowling Club. After Mrs Merrett had declared the season open, Mrs L. V. Brown (daughter of the president) put up the kitty, and Mrs N. Merrett, sen., bowled the first bowl.
