BEEF EXPORT SCHEDULE
TOP GRADE AT £6 PER 100 LB A schedule ol export prices for beet as delivered to nearest works m Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, or Southland has been announced, but at this time of the year little beef is available for export in the South Island. It is nevertheless of some significance as indicating how exporters view markets in the United Kingdom. Rates are believed to be fairly close to those at present operating in the North Island. The top grade in the new schedule is baby bfief, shown at 12Cs per 1001 b. When an opening beef schedule was anhounced last year in early December this was the price quoted for G.A.Q. ox and heifer under 8001 b. Now this class is shown at 110 s, with over 8001 b at 955, compared with an opening 107 s 6d last December. F.A.Q., ox and heifer, all weights, is no*/ quoted at 100 s, compared with 112 s a year ago. Boneless cow is, however, at 75s (60s last December) and boneless bull at 80s, compared with 655. The schedule rates, which came into operation on Monday, are:— Price per 1001 b. Baby beef .. .. 120 s G.A.Q. ox, heifer— Under 8001 b .. ~110 s Over 8001 b .. .. 95s F. ox and heifer— All weights .
