The Wanderer is one of the first crop of the Chelandry Stud sire, Kurdistan, and the first of his stock to get on the winning list. He is tfleo a half-brother to a smart two-year-old winner of last season, Can’t Fault Their dam, Eager Lady, was a Man’s Pal mare from Tray Bond, the dam of Pink Bond, which left a Stewards’ winner in Wantwood. Tray Bond also left useful performers in Sala bond. Starlee, and the brilliant sprinter, Sirocco. Kurdistan is by the English St. Leger winner, Tehran, sire also of the 1952 Derby winner, Tulyar, out of Rustom Mahal, a daughter of Mumtaz Mahal, dam of Nizami, and granddam of Mahmoud, Pherozshah, Migoli. and Nasrullah, sire of Nashua, leading three-year-old in the United States.
