U.S. FIRM’S INTEREST IN SOMERSET FAIR

(N.Z .P.A .—Reuter— Copy rig ht) SYDNEY, Aug. 29. American interests are trying to buy or lease the champion New Zealand racehorse, Somerset Fair, says the Sydney ‘Daily Telegraph." A representative of American interests approached his connexions immediately after Somerset Fair had finished an impressive second at Warwick Farm on Saturday. The American firm seeking Somerset Fair is the Thoroughbred Sales Company. Ine. TI ? firm’s representative said: “I was very impressed with Somerset's Fair’s Warwick Farm second. I immediately ap-

proached his connexions on behalf of the American firm. No definite offer was made, but more discussions will probably take place tomorrow.” The’ part-owners, Messrs B. A. Millen and J- E. Williams, race Somerset Fair as a hobby. They have previously refused many big offers for the horse.
