TRAP SHOOTING
WAIHORA GUN CLUB’S EVENTS
Conditions for shooting were ideal and excellent scores were recorded at a clay bird shoot held by the Waihora Gun Club on Saturday. Most notable shoot was that of J. H. Hayes, who scored a possible of 10 birds in the second match. Mr Hayes is 94 years of age. Results were:— First Match, Five-bird Sweep (27 entries).—Possibles were scored by G. W. Thompson, E. Bearman, L. Eden, S. Henderson, L. Hayes, R. Smith, L. Blatchford. T. Gebbie, N. E. Ablett, F. Radford, and I. Smith. Second Match, 10-Bird Sweep (27 entries). —Possibles were scored by L. Bennett, G. W. Thompson, E. Bearman, L. Eden, S. Henderson. L. Hayes, F. Rouse, L. Blatchford, T. Gebbie, N. E. Ablett. A Tomson, I. Smith, J. H. Hayes, and D. Beverage. Third Match, 10-Bird Sweep (26 entries). —Possibles were scored by H. Hatchard, E. Bearman. S. Henderson, J. T. Matson. N E. Ablett, and A. Tomson. Fourth Match, Double Rise at five Pairs. L. Eden and A. Tomson, with nine breaks, divided first and second money in the sweep, and L. Bennett, I. Smith, and H. Hatchard, with eight birds, shared the remainder.
