Luxury Liner For France
(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, August 28. Building will start in a few weeks on the new 55.000-ton French liner, which will cost £30.000,000 and is expected to be the fastest- liner on the Atlantic, when the first voyage is made in 1960, the “Daily Express” said today. The hull is planned so that the original steam or gas turbine engines can be easily replaced by atomic propulsion. The new liner will be built at the Fenhoet Yard, Saint Nazaire, where the Normandie was built.
