JULY WEATHER

Lincoln College reports that July was a wet, cold month. -Hours of sunshine and temperatures were below average. The rainfall of 4.46 inches was -1.73 inches above the July average, but strong winds giving high evaporation led to the removal of most of the surface water within a few days. Rainfall to date this year at Lincoln College is seven inches more than 1954, and similar to that of 1953. The subsoil is thoroughly wetted, and this should be reflected in a sustained period of spring growth.
