DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS TOURNEY
About 270 girls and 200 boy« from nine schools took part in the North Canterbury district high schools* winter, sports tournament held in South Hagley Park yesterday. , Thirty basketball teams and 18 Rugby football teams representing schools at Kaikoura, Hawardeni Oxford, Darfield. New Brighton, Lincoln, Mfethven, and Cheviot, competed. Results in the final games were:— Rugby Football.—Junior: Lincoln beat Southbridge, 11-0. Senior: Southbridge beat Hawarden. 3-0. Basketball. —Junior: Cheviot drew with Lincoln. 3-all. Senior; Hawarden beat Kaikoura, 3-2.
