Sir,—Working from a plan of the city is not to nave the knowledge of the needs of the people. It is now that a poll should be taken so that Miss Northcroft’s work can be simplified by this knowledge. The Manufacturers’ Association knows full well that the ordinary people’s objections can be overruled. Having gained prosperity from the citiz&is of this city, surely they can give their support by arranging a poll now, in justice to the people who buy their products.—Yours, etc., R. WOODHOUSE.
