BURSARIES IN FRANCE

FORMER ST. MARGARET’S ( PUPILS Two former pupils of St. Margaret’s ' College, Miss Prudence Tobin and Miss Rosemary Smith, are among New Zealand teachers who have been awarded bursaries by the* French Government to study in France. Miss Tobin graduated from Canterbury University College and then took a master of arts degree with first-class honours in French about two years ago.' She taught at the Craighead Diocesan School, Timaru, and was awarded a bursary in Germany a year ago. and will go from there to France. Miss Smith graduated more recently and took second-class honours in French for her master of arts degree. She has already left for France. Other teachers granted bursaries to study in France are Mr M. H. Gronwall, of Hamilton: Mr E. F. Kaye, of Wanganui; Mr A. F. Donovan, of Dunedin: and Mr Douglas G. M. McArthur, of Auckland.
