CHANNEL RACE POSTPONED
FOLKESTONE, August 10. The international swimming race from France to England, due to start at midnight, was called off tonight because of bad weather in the English Channel. The position will be reviewed at midday tomorrow. A 16-knot north-easterly wind, blowing off the French coast, whipped up white-flecked waves today, while fog patches were reported in the channel.
