MAN RUNS AMOK IN TRAIN
Four Killed, 10 Injured By Machine-Gun
(Rec. 10 p.m.) KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 11. A Rhodesian trooper shot dead four persons and wounded another 10 when he ran amok in a train near Kuala Lumpur today. The trooper stood between two carriages of a moving train 15 minutes after it had left Kuala Lumpur for Singapore and sprayed terrified passengers in both carriages with bursts of fire from a sub-machine-gun. The Rhodesian was later found dead with a gunshot wound in his head. Witnesses said screaming military and civilian passengers rushed to safety as bursts of machine-gun fire ripped into the sides of the carriages. The train lurched to a halt near the town of Subgei Besi, where military ambulances rushed the dead and injured to the British military hospital at Kinrara. Surgical teams were flown to handle the casualties.
