UNEASINESS IN SAIGON
Reinforcement Of Troops (Rec. 8 p.m.) SAIGON, August 11. The South Vietnamese Government is reinfqfcing the jittery Saigon area with forces which have recently been fighting the rebel General Bacut in south-western districts of the country. Officials say that these troops, which have been only partially successful in their month-long campaign, are being brought out of the field for "further training.” But many of them are being posted directly to units guarding vital points in the capital, and others have gone straight to strengthen outposts round Saigon. During the last two weeks terrorists have been conducting a mounting campaign of sabotage against the Government, while remnants of the rebel Binh Xuyen forces, which were driven from Saigon in early May, have been harrying National Army outposts at night. Almost every night Saigon has been disturbed by the noise of explosions from plastic time bombs, or by the thud of mortars and artillery from Army posts.
