WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Broadfield.—Mrs Foster presided over a good attendance at the July meeting of the Broadfield branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. A donation of £1 was. forwarded to the appeal by Heritage. Three tins of milk powder were sent to the Australian Flood Relief Committee in New South Wales. Shuttleworth presided over the July meeting of the Southbrook-Flaxton branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Invitations were received to attend birthday parties of the Fernside division, Ohoka Country Girls’ Club and the Ohoka Country Women’s Institute. Mrs Shuttleworth auctioned goods from the sales table. Competitions resulted as follows: large bloom: Mrs L Kolkman 1. Mrs Rowe and Mrs Atkinson (equal) 2. Mrs L. Smith and Mrs Munro (equal) 4. Pigeon Bay.—There was a small attendance of members at the T ’ily meeting of the Pigeon Bay branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Mrs W Hardie presided. It was agreed that the branch contribute a large tin of dried milk to the “Save the Children Fund.” Mrs Curtis was responsible for entertainment during the afternoon. Competition* resulted as follows: —beach cushion from a sugar bag: Mrs D. N. Waghorn 1. Mrs B. Waghorn 2. Plate of three savouries: Mrs Waghorn 1, Mrs G. McKay 2. Unusual small container for flowers: - Mrs McKay 1, Mrs Waghom 2. The hostesses were Mesdames J. Curtis and R. Craw. Marshland.—The July meeting of the Marshland branch of the Women’s Division of the Federated Farmers was held in the local hall where Mrs L. Okery presided. It was decided that the branch should become a member of Heritage. A demonstration on a garden rotary hoe was arranged at Mr W. W. Wais on’s residence. Rags for the Crippled Children Society drive were brought to the meeting by members. Arrangements for the birthday party were made. Competition winners were as follows:—Small bloom: Mesdames L. Stead 1, Mrs D. Goode 2. Large bloom: Mesdames S. Watson 1, J. Robertson 2. Cluster: Mesdames D.
