CIVIL SERVANT TO BE MEMBER OF BOARD “The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, August 10. The appointment of Mr G. R. J. Hope, second assistant secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce. to the directorate of Cement Importers, Ltd. was announced by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, (Mr D. J. Eyre). Mr Eyre said that previously all th? directors of the firm had been executive members of the three local cement companies. “I think Mr Hope’s appointment.” said Mr Eyre, “should allav a lot of unfair criticism levelled at the monopoly. as it is called, of the three companies.”
