EXCITING GAME AT HUNTLY WIN BY 28 POINTS TO 2D (New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, August 10. New Zealand Maoris beat France, 28-20, in an exciting Rugby League match at Davies Park, Huntly, today. After holding their own in the first half, the Maoris played France at its own game in the second half, and won deservedly. Play was clean in the first half, but with France down as many as 13 points, tempers became frayed, and at one stage the French manager (Mr M. Blain) spoke to his forwards. A. Berryman, a South Auckland representative and a former Kiwi, was outstanding for the Maoris at Centre, scoring two tries. Haggle, at full-back, was in good kicking form. The Maori forwards were more than a match for the opposition, and were splendid on defence, too. Tupaea, Hawkes, and Maxwell were the best of a fine pack. Dop, at full-back for France, was per-
haps the best back on the field. He was always willing to open un play from his own twenty-five, and often gained great slices of ground.
