T*he touring Manawatu Rugby team beat Thames Valley. 20-14. at Paeroa toaay after an unspectacular game in one weather on a slightly heavy ground Manawatu, capitalising on Thames Valley’s mistakes, had a 14-3 lead at halftime. Thames Valley’s play improved in the second half, but Manawatu, with better team work, at no time looked likely to lose the advantage. For Manawatu. R. Carroll (2). N. Harvey. s. Freebaim. and D.
