SELF-RULE IN MALAYA
Policy Of New Government (Rec. 11 p.m.)KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 10. Tengku Abdul Rahman, Malaya’s new Chief Minister, has pledged himself to obtain self-government and independence “in a constitutional way.” In a broadcast last night after his 15-man Cabinet had been sworn in, Tengku Rahman, leader of the Triple Alliance, which swept the polls in the July elections, listed the highlights of his policy as: Maintenance of the maximum goodwill and understanding between the High Commissioner (Sir Donald MacGillivray) and the Alliance Ministers. Collective responsibility and complete esprit de corps in the Cabinet of six Malays, five Eufopeans, three Chinese, and one Indian.
