LONG SERVICE TO COMPANY
MR J. S. STANLEY RETIRES Mr J. S. Stanley, manager of the Lyttelton office of Kinsey and Company for the last 20 years, has retired. Mr Stanley was in the company’s service for ' years. Among Mr Stanley’s many duties was an interest in the loading of stores and supplies for Captain Scott’s Antarctic expedition, and also for the Shackleton expedition. During World War II he was in charge of loading stores and supplies from Lyttelton for United States forces in the Pacific. For some time Mr Stanley was chairman of the Lyttelton committee of the Port. Employers’ Association and a member of the Port Conciliation Committee. Mr Stanley was recently entertained | by the Christchurch and Lyttelton! committees of the association, and was i presented with a silver tray and set! of crystal ware. He was also met by ths staffs of Kinsey and Company and was presented with a pair of wing chairs. Shipping interests in Lyttelton presented him With a smoker’s set.
