KENYA

Sir, —The report of 8000 African women armed with knives and spears marching on the Mau Maus leaves much to one’s imagination, especially the part stating they had been “cleaned" by mass confessions. I think that using natives against their own kind is an unpardonable sin. Africa belongs to these natives; it is their human inheritance and they are suited to the climate and conditions. People of other countries, who, over the years, have forcibly taken or acquired these lands are robbers according to justice «nd lav/, and have no legal right to retain the lands or murder the rightful heirs. They would have a perfect right, however, to teach and show the natives the best humanitarian way of life, but on no account to exploit the land, products, or the natives. —Yours, etc., THE LAW. August 9. 1955.
