Fate Of Cardinal Mindszenty
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) VIENNA, August 7. Joseph Cardinal Mindszenty, whose release from prison was announced last month, is reported to be living in a castle near Pecs, in southern Hungary, an official of the bishop’s palace at Esztergom said today. He said he had been informed that the cardinal was in a castle at Pues Oekszent-Lazzlo, but he did hot know if he was free. The official, speaking by telephone to Vienna, said he know only what had been announced on the radio and in the newspapers—that the Government had said that the life sentence was to be “interrupted.”
