PUBLIC SERVICE MARGINS
BOARD TO APPEAL AGAINST RISE (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Aug. 8. The Arbitration Court Chief Judge (Sir Raymond Kelly) today granted the Federal Public Service Board leave to appeal against salary rises for 120,000 public servants, which it is estimated would cost £2,500,000. Sir Raymond Kelly said the matter was of such importance that leave to appeal should be granted in the public interest. The board had appealed against a determination by the Federal Public Service Arbitrator (Mr G. B. Castieau) which granted marginal increases ranging from £lO to £9OO a year.
