NO SUPPORT FOR LIQUOR LICENCE APPLICATION
A motion that the Automobile Association (South Canterbury) give support. in the interests of members, to an application by a tourist company for a tourist house liquor licence for the Ohau Lodge, was defeated at a council meeting of ihe association held in Timaru on Monday night. Only the mover. Dr D. G. C. MacDonald, and the seconder. Mr E. D Moore, voted for the proposal. Members considered that the matter did not concern the association, and that it was not the right of the council to support the request. A suggestion by Mr G. J. Walker that the question be put to the annual meetlag 9MR adopted.
