STOCK MARKET RECOVERY
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON. August 9. Stock markets recovered yesterday after Friday’s heavy falls, the “News Chronicle” said today. There was a flow of new buyers in search of bargains and as the present three-week trading session closes today, speculators were back covering their losses. Millions were put back on share values almost as quickly as they were knocked off last week.
