PETROV INQUIRY REPORT
(Rec. 11 p.m.) CANBERRA, Aug. 9. The Prime Minister (Mr Menzies) told a press conference today that the report of the Royal Commission on Espionage would be ready for tabling in Parliament early in September. The commission was appointed by the Government in April, 1954. after the defection of the former Soviet diplomat. Vladimir Petrov, and his wife. Its hearings lasted for nearly a year.
