Royal Children At Play On Public Beach
(Rec 8 p.m.) MILFORD HAVEN. August 9. Prince Charles and Princess Anne splashed in the sea and made sand castles on the beach yesterday—the first time the Royal children have played on a public beach. The Prince and Princess spent the day on the sand at Whattick Bay while their parents carried out official engagements at Aberystwyth. They were taken to the bay from the Royal yacht Britannia by a fast motorlaunch. The Prince, wearing blue trunks, was first into the water. He rated down the steep beach, but found the water colder than expected. In the shallows he stopped, shivered, and rubbed his chest before bobbing down into the sparkling water until it lapped his chin. The Princess, wearing a black bathing costume with crossover straps, was less venturesome. She hesitated at the water's edge, and then scam-
pered back on to the warm beach. Later, after some splashing from an accompanying nurse, she went into the sea up to her waist. After their bathe, the children made sand castles in the sunshine, watched bv their grandmother. Princess Andrew of Greece, mother of the Duke of Edinburgh. . While the children gambolled m the s*»a. the cliffs above the b?y were oatroVed and a speedboat kept yachtsmen from coming too close to the party. ______
